MAURUS C. LOGAN, 86, of Sea Brook Village, TINTON FALLS, died Monday, Nov. 12, at his residence. Born in Dalmuir Scotland, he lived in Elizabeth for 60 years before moving to Tinton Falls in 2006. Mr. Logan retired as vice president of Research and Development at Thomas and Betts in Elizabeth.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude; and his daughter, Ann. Surviving are his son, Robert and his wife Eileen of New Providence; his daughter, Mary of Freehold; and two grandsons, Andrew I. of Newton, Mass., and John M. of New Providence.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D St., Belmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth's Church, Avon. Interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ann Logan Memorial Scholarship Fund, Mother Seton High School, Valley Road, Clark, NJ 07066, would be appreciated.
Although not in the obituary, it should be noted be noted that Maurus Logan invented zip ties.
