Josephine Adams Wurster
Dec 14, 1936 - Apr 22, 2021

Josephine Adams Wurster, affectionately known as Jo, Jo-Jo, Josie, Mom, or Oma, was born on December 14, 1936 in Berea, Kentucky to Margaret Josephine Sanders and James Trigg Adams Sr. Jo lived an incredible life for 84 years and transitioned peacefully on April 22, 2021 at home with her family by her side. She was in end stage congestive heart failure and wanted to go home and be with her Johnnie. Not surprisingly, she was partying like a rockstar and drinking champagne right up until her passing. Jo loved her friends and family, she loved to celebrate, and she loved to laugh.

Josephine was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Oma to her grandchildren. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh and see the sunny side of life. And, she was a true friend to so many. She loved to write letters and send cards; a lost art these days.

The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless lost a huge fan; Nielsen Ratings will go down for sure. Also, Chicos, Ross Simons, Danbury Mint, Bradford Exchange and the Sunnyland Farms Pecan Company might go out of business without her patronage. Anyone who visited her home knew that her 'side table' was essentially a giant stack of catalogs.

Fun fact: Josephine was one of the last "Number, Please" Operators of the Magnolia Exchange in Louisville, Kentucky in the 1950's!

Some of her parting words were, "I want everyone to love God, be grateful; and, love, laugh and be happy." Those who knew and loved her will take her parting words to heart, put on those rose colored glasses, and tip a glass of bubbly to celebrate what she meant to all of us.

Josephine's love for the Arts was a huge part of her life and she requested any donations in her memory be sent to Dreyfoos School Of The Arts via the School of the Arts Foundation in Palm Beach County FL. This is the address: https://soafi.org/donate/gift_designation (Please choose "Visual Arts/Digital Media" from the Gift Designation options list.) She also requested that no big memorial be held due to the "plague" and to have a small family service to intern her and her Johnnie Fly Boy at Cave Hill Cemetery in her beloved Louisville, Kentucky. Many years ago, she and Johnnie were visiting Cave Hill when her mother and older brother, Harland, were being interned and Johnnie said he wanted "I cooked a lot of chicken" on his headstone. Appropriately, Josephine responded, "I ate a lot of chicken".

Jo wasn't the life of the party, she WAS the party. Cheers!
